About Us

Sienna MGA Mission Statement 

The purpose of the Sienna MGA is the promotion of good fellowship and sportsmanship among its members, and to encourage active participation in playing MGA sponsored golf tournaments and golf related social events.

Message From The Board

Thank you for your interest in the Sienna Men’s Golf Association (MGA). The Sienna MGA is a nonprofit entity, and a registered 501(c)7 organization. We operate as a 501(c)7 nonprofit organization returning all proceeds to the MGA members in various forms.

The Sienna MGA is open to all Sienna Golf Club (SGC) members; as well as non-SGC members. Qualifications to join as a non-SGC member include A) sponsorship by a present MGA member (consider yourself sponsored); B) a verifiable handicap index; and C) recordation of at least 10 rounds in the last 12 months. Note, there are exceptions to parts B and C if necessary on a case by case basis.

We presently have +/- 110 members representing the backbone of Sienna Golf Club players. MGA member handicaps range from +2 to 25(+), so it is very diverse with respect to skill level. All MGA tournaments are based on net scores, thereby evening the playing field… which means there is a place in the MGA for any handicap level player.

Our monthly tournament participation averages about 40 players; and are all held on Saturdays with an 8:00 AM shotgun (most prevalent) or tee time starts.

Membership

Annual dues are $60 for the calendar year January through December. Beginning in March, MGA annual dues are prorated $5 per month (i.e. $55 in March, $50 in April, $45 in May… $20 in October). Joining in November or December is free for the balance of the calendar year.

For MGA SGC members, the annual dues will be invoiced to your SGC account on January 31 each year. For MGA non-SGC members, we collect dues in cash and have two (2) options for payment…

  1. Preferred Method: Payment through Zelle directly into the MGA bank account. Zelle payments can be made to: SiennaMGA@gmail.com.
     

  2. You can leave an envelope with the cash at the Sienna pro shop.
    IMPORTANT: on the outside of the envelope include
    A) Your Name;
    b) “Annual Dues”; and
    c) Blair or Blair Hamilton.

Upon leaving the envelope, text Blair – 832-971-9344 – with your name and that the envelope is there. It will be promptly retrieved with confirmation sent to you.

Tournament Fees

Entry fee for standard MGA monthly tournaments is $20 – you settle for the golf / cart with Sienna GC according to your membership level or non-SGC member level – pay as you go (non-SGC member pay a SGC member’s guest rate).
 

The $20 entry fee is broken down as follows:
 

  • $10 into prize pool (either cash / pro shop credit or gift certificate for non-SGC members) – we generally pay out 30% to 35% of the field

  • $2 into the MGA hole-in-one fund (currently at +/- $1386)

  • $8 into the MGA general fund
     

If you are a Sienna GC member the entry fee is charged to your SGC account on the day of the tournament. or by Zelle at SiennaMGA@gmail.com If you are a non-SGC member, your cash entry fee can be paid by Zelle (see above), or cash collected by an MGA board member on the day of the tournament before teeing off.

Regular Standing Games
 

And if you are interested in a regular game with standing tee times (a great way to meet a lot of Sienna MGA members) and get some work in, there are a few options:
 

  1. Friday afternoon (11:45 AM to 12:00 tee times)

  2. Saturday / Sunday morning (7:45 to 8:05 tee times)

  3. Monday / Wednesday / Friday AM (+/- 7:45 to 8:00 tee times)

  4. Wednesday Evening 9-Hole Best Ball (during DST)
     

They all work the same – the group organizer sends out an email mid-week to the group... each player responds "in" or "out" (no pressure either way)... if you are "in", just show up on the appointed day and time ready to go... foursomes are typically made on the day of play based on who is playing.

If you are interested in getting on a group email list, just let us know and we will make it happen... copying you on the email sent to the group organizer.
